Real estate agents, Fimaa Confcommercio at MIMIT: enhancing professional quality.
Representatives of Fima, the national confection association, appear at a hearing at the Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Made in Italy to ask for alternative ways to access the profession and mandatory continuing education for agents.
Alternative ways of accessing the profession of real estate agent
The organization proposes to establish two alternative pathways to access the real estate profession. Instead of the existing one, which involves prior training and passing an examination at the area and competence business office, Fima proposes the following options:
- Access to the profession of real estate agent through a one-year apprenticeship as''An agent registered in the REA/RI card for at least five years and only after completing a 50-hour training course with verification.
- Completion of a three-year university course in a specialty related to the field. This also includes a final examination every three months at the Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
Main discussion on the draft regulation
The main discussion focused on the draft ordinance to implement Real Estate Law 57/2001, which would provide alternative ways to access the real estate profession.
Indicators of the need for access to''education
The associations present also noted the need to harmonize the timing and content of current regional courses by including at least two real estate agents with at least ten years of experience on the examining panel. In addition, the idea of introducing mandatory continuing education for all real estate agents was put forward.
Conclusion and request from Fima Confcommercio
In conclusion, Fima Confcommercio requested to authorize the inclusion of real estate agents in section "d) agents for various services" in accordance with Law 39/1989 regarding the authorization of the activity of intermediate sale of interests or shares related to the transfer of real estate and/or companies.
