Cohousing is an alternative to traditional housing in Spain, with prices starting from 125,000 euros.
More and more people are finding it difficult to find affordable rentals or get their own place without a large financial outlay. This is contributing to the emergence of more and more alternatives to traditional housing. One example is cohousing, a trend that is becoming increasingly popular. Do you want to know what it involves? We'll give you all the details next.
Cohousing
Kohausing is an alternative in which a group of people with shared values and very similar lifestyles decide to purchase a communal house that meets their needs, explains Fotocasa. The purchase of the home is done through a cooperative. To do this, a group of people form a cooperative to buy''housing. Thus, the property is owned by the cooperative and members pay a fee, set in the bylaws, for the right to use and enjoy the property. These are usually separate living quarters with shared services such as laundry facilities. Co-op members are responsible for developing a model for shared living and common spaces.
Examples of cohousing
An example is the project realized by Kora Pamplona. It is a cohousing located in the Lezcairu district of Pamplona, which consists of 167 fully equipped apartments with access to extensive common areas, as noted in the proposal published on the Idealista real estate portal. The building has stunning rooftop views, a swimming pool, gym, workspace, library and garden.''The apartments can vary in size from 28 square meters to 62 square meters. Each is equipped with a kitchen and bathroom, some also have a terrace.

Another option available on the real estate portal is a cohousing apartment in the La Roqueta neighborhood of Valencia. The price is 306,000 euros, but it is also possible to purchase a garage for an additional 35,000 euros. This accommodation of over 120 square meters is located on the first floor of a building with elevator. It features access to extensive common areas such as a lobby of 190 square meters, a workspace''with an area of 400 square meters. There is also a gym and a courtyard with swimming pool. Specifically the apartment has a living-dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, a bedroom with dressing room and a bathroom with shower, sink and toilet.
An eco-friendly shared housing in Valdemoro, a town in the autonomous community of Madrid, also attracted attention for 160,000 euros. The apartment is part of a shared housing for seniors, aimed at those looking for a place to spend the last stage of life in company without losing privacy and independence. The accommodation is located on the third floor of a building with elevator. The apartment has a double bedroom with fitted closets, full bathroom, living-dining room, fully''equipped kitchen, pantry and parking space. It should be noted that the apartment is fully adapted for people with reduced mobility, as it has no architectural barriers. In addition, the floor in the kitchen and bathroom is covered with anti-slip gres tiles. The residential complex also offers services such as concierge, café-restaurant, community hall and gardens.
