From ravers to retirees, Spain's endless sunny coasts remain our favorite place to vacation abroad. It's still our favorite place to buy a country house, according to the Spanish property registry, with Brits buying 9,837 properties in Spain last year, more than any other nationality.

This trend is even more surprising given the 90 days out of 180 rule limiting stays in a Spanish holiday home - unless, of course, you have a visa. With energy bills rising and inflation increasing operating costs, owning a second home is becoming increasingly expensive; but renting out during periods of non-use is one obvious way to cover such costs.

It also helps that our desire to take mini vacations in Spanish cities or related articles.
