Incidents are haunting an estate linked to Spanish King Juan Carlos.

Инциденты преследуют поместье, связанное с испанским королем Хуаном Карлосом.

The estate in England has become the center of a scandal involving former King Juan Carlos I of Spain, her lawyers say. Lawyers for Corinna Larsen, the king's former mistress and owner of Chyknell Hall estate in Shropshire, say there have been "several incidents" at her property, including a mysterious burglary in 2017.

Larsen bought the £6 million estate in 2015, three years after receiving a suspicious €65 million gift from the monarch. According to Swiss investigators, the money was linked to a 76 million pound payment from Saudi Arabia.

It is reported that Larsen spent a further 6 million pounds on renovating the estate, which has caused surprise among''locals who say "it was already such a nice estate" and "had to redesign a great kitchen, just for the sake of the process itself".

Larsen's lawyers deny the money laundering allegations and say Chyknell Hall is not the subject of a Swiss investigation, but the allegations have prompted the former royal to leave Spain for Abu Dhabi. Chyknell Hall Estate covers 200 acres of land near Bridgnorth in Shropshire and is at the center of a scandal involving former King Juan Carlos I of Spain.

King of Spain Juan Carlos gave Corinna Larsen €65 million in 2006, which he says was a gift of gratitude, 3 years before she bought the Shropshire estate. Locals near Chyknell Hall say,'''that Corinna Larsen, also known as Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, has been "the main topic of conversation" since she moved in, but is "not very involved in the community". One local resident told The Times that "a lot of work was done when she moved in and people were asking why, as it was already such a nice estate". "It took ripping out a perfectly stocked kitchen for the sake of the process itself," he added. Keeping the estate secure was beefed up after Larsen moved in, but an intruder allegedly broke in three years ago, and attorneys say there have been other "incidents," without elaborating on the details.

Larsen told the Mail on Sunday newspaper earlier this year that she suspected provocation by Spanish security services. The only indication of the 2017 robbery was''pulled from the broken window of her second-floor room. Nothing had been stolen from the house. "It shows a great level of competence, not only to carry out the break-in but to know which room was hers," said her head of office Adam Cruikshank.

Chyknell Hall Estate in Shropshire was sold to a former lover of Spain's King Juan Carlos I in 2015, and the purchase is reportedly now under investigation in Switzerland. The regency mansion has been renovated to a high standard but retains original features. Larsen, who was born in Denmark, works as a business consultant and has been under suspicion of money laundering since 2018, but lawyers say the charges are unfounded.

According to El Pais, she told Swiss prosecutors that she bought''s property through a Panama-registered trust that listed her son, then 13 years old, as a beneficiary of the trust. The purchase of the Chyknell Hall estate reportedly drew the attention of Swiss authorities because of the gift from Juan Carlos and because of the 'opaque structure' she allegedly set up to buy it. Larsen said last week that Juan Carlos had previously given an "extremely generous gift" out of "gratitude for his care" and because he valued her son. Speaking to BBC News, Larsen, who was the king's mistress from 2004 to 2009, said Juan Carlos asked for the money back in a "hysterical fit" in 2014. "At some point he realized I wasn't going to give it back and he got really angry. He demanded everything back. Я''I think it's just a fit he organized,' she said." However, she said Juan Carlos told Swiss investigators that 'he never actually asked for the money back'.

Chyknell Hall Estate includes a listed regency house and five cottages.

The 11-bedroom house was built in 1814 and has changed owners just twice. In addition to Larsen, three other people are under investigation for the $100 million Juan Carlos received from the late Saudi King Abdullah in a Swiss bank account in 2008. Both Larsen and Juan Carlos deny she kept the money from the former king. In a letter dated August 2018 that Juan Carlos sent to his Swiss lawyer Dante''Canonica, he wrote that "the donation made by Larsen in 2012 was unchanged." "I have never received a single contribution from her. I never asked for it," Juan Carlos wrote in French in a letter published by Spanish media last week.

Juan Carlos has been married to his wife Sofia since 1962, and reports of his relationship with Larsen have sparked a wave of sympathy for the former queen. The queen's official biographer described Juan Carlos as a man who liked all women except the one he chose as his wife. Despite his self-isolation, Juan Carlos, who left the throne in 2014, said he remains at the disposal of prosecutors. His remaining estate in Shropshire sits on 200 acres and has an outdoor swimming pool. It is reported that''Prosecutors are now investigating the purchase of Chyknell Hall.

Spanish royal and Danish business consultant Corinna Larsen, also known as Corinna zu Sayn-Wittgenstein, at a dinner in Stuttgart in 2006. In June, Spain's Supreme Court opened a preliminary investigation into his involvement in a contract to build a fast rail link to Saudi Arabia. Justice Minister Juan Carlos Campo said the former king would return to Spain to answer the court's demands. "I am sure that when justice calls him, he will arrive," Campo said. Juan Carlos' whereabouts caused mystery earlier this month until the royal palace confirmed he had been in the United Arab Emirates since Aug. 3. In a letter to his son Felipe, he said that''wants the current king to reign uninterrupted "in the face of the public repercussions that some past events in my personal life have caused."' King Felipe thanked Juan Carlos for his decision, pointing to the "historical importance of his paternal reign" for democracy in Spain. Juan Carlos was crowned in 1975 after preparing his candidacy to succeed longtime Spanish dictator Francisco Franco. However, to the misfortune of Franco's supporters, the king quickly instituted reforms that led to democratic elections in 1977. After an attempted military coup in 1981, Juan Carlos appeared on television in support of the government and Spain's young democracy. However, his popularity plummeted because of the case o' the'tax fraud involving members of the royal family and also because of a botched hunt in Botswana.
