When will the trial with Donald Trump take place?

Donald Trump's calendar is packed with court dates corresponding to numerous criminal charges and civil lawsuits. The former president and his legal team are preparing for a busy year, trying to juggle multiple court hearings while Trump continues his campaign for the 2024 presidential election.

Currently, Trump has been charged with a crime four times - twice at the federal level and twice at the state level. Additionally, there are two civil lawsuits against the former president in New York.

Although Trump's legal team is continuously trying to convince judges to postpone court hearings until after the 2024 elections, almost all the dates for the consideration of his criminal cases are set for next spring.

The most pressing matter on his agenda right now is the civil case against the state of New York, which will begin in Manhattan court on Monday (October 2).

In a civil lawsuit filed by Attorney General Letitia James, Trump and his company "The Trump Organization" are accused of deliberately inflating or misleading the value of assets in financial statements.

This case, overseen by Judge Arthur Engoron, is taking place in New York. The judge will determine what penalties will be imposed on Trump for his fraudulent business activities after it was established last week that Trump, his adult sons Donald Jr. and Eric, as well as the companies and executives, had inflated the value of their company's assets for many years.

At the beginning of next year, Trump will have to go to court against E. Jean Carroll.

This time, the case will only concern Carroll's allegations that Trump defamed her in 2019 after her accusations of rape.

The judge assigned to the case will be Lewis Kaplan, and the hearings will take place in New York.

This case is related to four federal criminal charges brought against Trump regarding his alleged involvement in the attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election and the subsequent insurrection on January 6.

Trump is accused of conspiracy to defraud the United States, obstruction of justice, and violating rights. The former president has declared his innocence in committing the crimes.

This case was initiated by special prosecutor Jack Smith after a years-long investigation into the Capitol attack, which was fueled by false claims from the former president about widespread voter fraud in the 2020 elections.

Judge Tanya Chutkan has been appointed to hear this case in Washington.

In April, Trump became the first sitting or former president to be charged with a crime. He has been indicted on 34 counts related to falsifying business records in a Manhattan criminal court.

The charges are based on an investigation by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who claims that Trump attempted to cover up hush money payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels in 2016 to silence her allegations of an extramarital affair.

At the first hearing, Trump declared his innocence on all 34 charges.

In this case, Judge Juan Merchan is presiding in New York.

In June, the former president was once again federally charged for mishandling confidential government documents that Trump took with him to his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida after leaving the White House in 2021.

Trump was initially charged with 37 criminal counts, including violating the Espionage Act for the unlawful retention of classified documents containing national security information.

Three more charges were added to the original charges in the supplemental indictment. Trump pleaded not guilty to all 40 charges in total.

Trump was charged in Fulton County by District Attorney Fani Willis for his alleged involvement in attempts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia, along with 18 co-defendants.

The former president was charged with violating the Organized Crime Control Act, as well as 12 other charges. Trump and his accomplices declared their innocence on all counts.

Currently, the date for Trump's court hearing has not been set, but the case is being overseen by Judge Scott McAfee.

So far, two of Trump's co-defendants, Kenneth Chesebro and Sidney Powell, have separated their cases from the other co-defendants. Their trial is set to take place on October 23.
