Míchel signs up for Al Qadsiah, owned by the largest oil company in the world
Spanish coach Michel Gonzalez has already decided on his next team - it will be Arabia Saudita. The Madrid man will return to the coaching bench after his resignation as Olympiacos head coach last April, and he will be working at Al Qadsiyah, in Saudi Arabia's second division.
This Arab team, which has many Spaniards, has been acquired by Aramco, the largest oil company in the world, which has already invested heavily and has players such as Joel Robles, Alvaro Gonzalez - Michel's son - and Luciano Vietto in its ranks. Al Qadsia's goal is to reach the Saudi Premier League to compete with stars such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and others. Michel''comes in to replace former Liverpool player Robbie Fowler when the team is in second place - the first three teams to climb the league - and just one point behind the leaders.
The team's director of sports is Carlos Anton, a soccer traveler who went through Real Madrid, England, Hong Kong and Kuwait before ending up in Saudi Arabia and creating a Spanish-speaking project. Michel, who will arrive with his usual working group, will also have the support of Miguel Angel Garcia (physical trainer), Monchi (goalkeeping coach), Jesus David Arco (rehabilitator) and Alvaro Astolzi (physiotherapist), as well as other Spaniards within the club's structure.
Aramco is the most important oil company in''Saudi Arabia and the largest in the world.
