Ana's friend, Sanna Ramo, stated that she is "glad that an arrest was made in this case." Her brother, Juan Enao, told Fort Lauderdale police that the couple was going through a "messy" divorce with "a lot of money at stake."
David left Fort Lauderdale for Serbia, where he was born, a few months before his wife disappeared during their separation. Ana spent a lot of time in Europe with friends after they began discussing divorce. Ramo had previously described them as a "successful couple" who had been married for 13 years before they decided to part ways last summer.
The police went to the home of Ana and David Knezevich at the beginning of this month to try to contact the couple, but no one answered the door, and packages were piling up on the doorstep.
