Tensions between the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the UN

The Belarusian national ice hockey team will not take part in the 2021 World Championship, which will be held in Latvia and Belarus. Such a decision was taken by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) due to the lack of confidence in the organizational abilities of Belarus and concerns about the human rights situation in the country.
The IIHF's decision provoked various reactions. Some supported him, believing that sports should not be played in a country where human rights are violated. Others expressed disappointment, pointing out that hockey should not be politicized and that players should be able to compete on the international stage regardless of the political situation in their country.
Belarus itself expressed its disappointment with the IIHF's decision and said it complies with all international standards in organizing sporting events.
The situation with the World Ice Hockey Championship in Belarus thus remains uncertain. The IIHF is still discussing the issue and looking for alternatives to host the tournament. It may be decided to move the championship to another country or cancel it.
