New horizons for Real Zaragoza
From the perspective of Real Zaragoza, the club we recognize as a symbol and emblem, today could be a truly significant day in its history. The foundations are being laid for a farewell to the ancient Romareda, a stadium that has been cherished and loved, and has become the site of the club's greatest moments, such as the achievements of the Magnificent, the Zaragoza team, Leo Beenhakker's squad, and the team that won the Cup Winners' Cup.
However, the stadium has long become outdated and unsuitable for sports and architecture, not meeting the standards of the club and the city. Today, as we speak, may be a day of farewell and at the same time an opening to a future that is more in line with the times and the aspirations of the club and the noble, loyal, and heroic city of Zaragoza, among other titles.
For several decades now, it has been clear that Real Zaragoza and its fans need a modern stadium that meets not only the size requirements but also the potential to open up to Spain, Europe, and the world. We mention Spain because everyone knows that the Spanish national team and federation cannot focus on the current Romareda, except for rare exceptional situations, like what happened last year during the celebration of the centenary of the Aragonese Football Federation.
Europe is mentioned because the new owner aims to return Real Zaragoza to La Liga as soon as possible and to take a worthy place in the football elite of our country.
Without a doubt, the world of Zaragoza celebrates these horizons, which, by the way, can be considered undeniable due to their commitment to the club colors during the dark years they are going through.
