Greek tycoon's mansion tries to prevent Tara Tyson Kouloukoundis' widow from selling artwork in Manhattan court.
The widow of a Greek tycoon is suing her late husband's family. Three years ago, Tara Tyson Kouloukoundis refused to leave a luxury villa in South Hampton that was sold to pay off her late husband's debts. She only gave in after the executors of the will obtained a court order to force her to leave.
Now her son Manuel Kulukundis and the Portman Family Trust have sued to stop her from selling off a treasure trove of artwork they claim belongs to the trust. The art, including works by Chagall, Matisse, El Greco and Pissaro, adorns the walls of the luxury apartment in the Hotel Pierre where she lives.
In documents filed with the Manhattan Supreme Court,''has been able to reach Tara Kouloukoundis for comment. In 2013, she also had no comment when she was forced to leave a $25 million Hamptons beach villa that was also decorated with expensive artwork.
Kulukundis, an actress who had minor roles in television series such as "Starsky & Hutch" and "Charlie's Angels," was a popular blonde in the 1970s who socialized with Grace Jones and was photographed with Andy Warhol and Francesco Scavullo. At the time of her husband's death, Kulukundis and her four children received shares in a family trust, at the time valued at $50 million, but the trust was asset-rich, indebted and short on cash. The huge villa was sold to pay off some of the deceased's debts
