Founded in 1984 by a German designer of the same name, Karl Lagerfeld operates with a network of more than two hundred stores in France, UK, Germany, USA, UAE and China, and is present in multi-brand stores in sixty countries. In 2015, G-III, which owns Dkny, joined Karl Lagerfeld and acquired the license to distribute the fashion, accessories and footwear brand Karl Lagerfeld Paris. Last May, the company acquired all of Karl Lagerfeld for $210 million, owning 81% that was not owned by a group of investors led by Fred Gehring. G-III aims to develop the international expansion of the company, which has an annual turnover of around 200 million euros (excluding North America).
