"Sales of housing increased by19 percent in June."

According to official data from the Department of Land and Survey, real estate sales in June were up 19 percent compared to the same month last year. The total number of sales (measured by the number of concluded contracts registered at the real estate registry offices) in June 2023 was 1,397 compared to 1,173 in June 2022. Sales increased in all districts except Famagusta, where the number of sales remained unchanged. Limassol ranked first in the number of sales (444), followed by Paphos (316), Nicosia (312), Larnaca (258) and Famagusta (67).

Property sales for the first six months of 2023 reached 6,7689; an increase of 23 percent over the same period last year, with increased sales in all neighborhoods.

Domestic property sales rose 6 percent in June compared to June 2022, but Limassol reported a 5 percent decline.

Nicosia recorded the highest number of sales, followed by Limassol, Larnaca, Paphos and Famagusta.

Domestic sales for the first six months of 2023 totaled 4,112; an increase of 6 percent from the 3,635 achieved in the same period last year.

Sales to foreign nationals (non-Sypriots) increased by 38 percent compared to June 2022, with sales increasing in all areas except Famagusta, where they decreased by 7 percent. Paphos recorded the highest number of sales, followed by Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Famagusta.

Real estate sales to foreign nationals in the first six months of 2023 totaled 3,577; an increase of 36 percent from the 2,628 achieved in the same period last year.

Sales to EU nationals continue to decline sharply, falling 11 percent compared to June 2022, with sales declining in all areas except Larnaca and Nicosia. Paphos ranked first in terms of sales, followed by Limassol, Larnaca, Nicosia and Famagusta.

Sales to EU citizens in the first six months of 2023 totaled 969; a 23 percent decrease from the 1,253 achieved in the first six months of 2022.

Property sales to non-EU citizens rose by 86 percent compared to June 2022, with sales increasing in all districts. Limassol ranked first in terms of sales, followed by Paphos, Larnaca, Nicosia and Famagusta.

Property sales to non-EU citizens in the first six months of 2023 totaled 2,608, an increase of 90 percent from the 1,375 achieved in the same period last year.
