In Madrid, police uncovered a scheme to export Iberian products to China, violating intellectual property rights as they were packaged with logos of brands such as Cinco Jotas (5J) for commercialization.

The woman who runs the company has been detained as the alleged perpetrator of an intellectual property offense, and an investigation is underway against the man who handled the company's procurement and documentation, the General Directorate of Police said Friday.

The investigation began after a complaint from an Osborne business that learned of the existence of a location open to the public that infringed on the "5J" brand. Officers determined that the location, run by Orientals, was owned by a company engaged in the production and export of Iberian meat products to China under the brand name "5T".

When the company attempted to register the mark "5T", it was refused because it is a mark confused with the original mark.

Despite this, they continued to export meat products of various origins and brands to China and sold them in a store in the Cobo Calleja industrial zone in Fuenlabrada. They also processed and vacuum-packed ham and sausages with a brand that had been refused to them, and added labels with the "5J" brand for sale on the retail market.

Thousands of labels bearing the "5T," "5J," and "Joselito" emblems, brand endorsement decorations, and other items that officers believe to be evidence of alleged industrial property fraud were seized during an inspection of the said establishment.
