In this evening's ceremony, all 15 winners of the Dezeen Awards 2023 architectural project were announced, with Simba Vision Montessori School emerging as the winner of the architectural project of the year category. A total of 15 winners from 10 different countries, including Iran, Japan, Indonesia, Tanzania and Spain, were represented in the annual Dezeen Awards program.

Simba Vision Montessori School, designed by Architectural Pioneering Consultants, won the Architectural Project of the Year category and was also recognized as the Education Project of the Year. The winning school competed against other projects including a barrel-shaped subway station made from handmade bricks in Iran, a renovated concrete brewery in Shenzhen and a guesthouse sunk on an island hill in Japan. Also among the winners were projects such as a public space built from recycled bricks in Mexico City, a nine-building working campus set in a landscaped garden, and a linear park with retrospective infrastructure - all in Mexico.

Simba Vision Montessori School is a school in rural Tanzania that applies Montessori principles - a play-based and hands-on method of learning.
