Virgin project by Sir Richard Branson - the ideal hotel in Spain
"Son Bunyola" on the Spanish island of Mallorca: a new project by Richard Branson
Richard Branson, the founder of the Virgin Group, recently launched his new project on the Spanish island of Mallorca. "Son Bunyola" is a 26-room hotel located in a 16th-century building, along with three villas on a 1,300-acre estate. This abandoned estate was purchased by Branson 25 years ago, but the project was delayed for many years due to a lack of building permits. However, the hotel finally opened last week.
The main building of the hotel is designed in light tones and features two towers, one of which dates back to the 13th century. Inside, guests are greeted with luxury, understated elegance, and a friendly atmosphere. The courtyard furniture is adorned with natural rattan, and the wide zinc bar, stocked with a wide selection of alcohol, delights the eyes of the guests. The hotel is also suitable for family vacations - the pool has swimming toys, cribs, and high chairs. The hotel's color scheme is soft, predominantly featuring green and blue shades that create a calming atmosphere reminiscent of early morning. Geometric patterns and striped awnings pay homage to the Moorish heritage of the island of Mallorca.
The prices for accommodation start at 600 euros per night, including breakfast.

Son Bunyola offers guests stunning views of the estate from its large terrace. Nearby, there is a rocky beach for swimming, as well as a 28-meter pool overlooking the terraces. Guests also have access to hiking and biking trails, as the coastline is now connected to neighboring villages. Additionally, the hotel grounds feature vineyards of the local Malvasia Mallocan grape variety, as well as 7,000 olive trees. There are also plans to keep donkeys and goats on the property to help maintain the health of the olive trees and provide natural fertilizer.
This is just the beginning of the "Son Bunyola" project. In the coming years, the hotel will expand and open new buildings, including an additional 12 rooms in the ruins of an old finca. A vegetable garden will also be created on the hotel grounds, which will be irrigated with natural spring water. Unlike other Branson projects, such as Virgin Galactic and Virgin Atlantic, which are based on speed and technology, "Son Bunyola" represents a unique blend of luxury and a natural lifestyle, which could become a true legacy for its creator.
