Villa with sea view on Bodrum peninsula in Turkey.
The modern villa overlooking the town and marina in Yalikavak, in the northwest of the Bodrum Peninsula, is as much about the views of the deep blue Aegean Sea and the marina lined with superyachts as it is about the chic accommodation itself.
Yalikavak, located on Turkey's Bodrum Peninsula, was formerly a fishing village turned luxury resort. Its traditional two-story stone houses are known as "Bodrum evleri" or "basement houses".
"These houses often have white-washed walls, wooden shutters and tiled roofs," says real estate agent Mihane Sadiku of Best Invest-Turkey. "They combine historic architecture with modern amenities. "
Today, many residents of this beach town use their homes as second/vacation homes or rent them out during the summer. The residential community also features new villas that combine modern architecture and high-quality finishes.
This luxury home, priced at €2.31 million or about $2.5 million, combines stone and wood with clean lines and glass walls. The terraces with glass railings and the swimming pool offer sea views.
The horizontal construction of the house encapsulates the central courtyard. The flat roof is adorned with a garden of stones and succulent plants illuminated by lanterns.
The same stone facade is used inside on the accent walls.
The elevator connects the upper two floors to the garage on the lower level.
The villa has a living area of 535 square meters (almost 6,000 square feet) and includes three bedrooms and three bathrooms. An elevator connects the upper two floors to the two-car garage on the lower level.
The community amenities include a fitness center, spa, basketball court, 24-hour security and outdoor, indoor and children's pools.
The villa is close to Yalikavak Marina, beach clubs, restaurants and shopping. It sits on a 9.7-hectare (24-acre) property that is decorated with bougainvillea, myrtle and sandalwood trees. There are also unfurnished six- and seven-bedroom villas starting at €5.6 million or about $6 million. One villa recently sold for 7 million euros, Sadikou says.
"In recent years there has been a mix of foreign buyers from all corners of the world," she says. "It's currently a buyers' market with a variety of options at different levels. "
Large glass doors connect interior and exterior spaces.
