The manor complex was born in the 17th century that will find completion towards the end of the 19th century with the transformation made by the Ferrara Count Galeazzo Massari (later duke Fabriago): 3,000 sqm Castle, surrounded by about 4,000 sqm park with ancient plants.
Three parties halls has frescoed cielieng: one on the ground floor and two on the first floor which give access to the balcony above the living room of the ground floor.
Between 1600 and 1700, S. Maria in Fabriago was the home of the Zanotti workshops that produced the arms for the Estensi. In the hamlet there is a manascalco workshop in disuse, still equipped. In the second half of the 1700s, following the death of Mr. Rodinelli, the children decided to use the ground floor of the ”Holiday Home” for representative purposes while the bedrooms and the private rooms were on the second floor of the building. The presence of two large hall in the Castle, one of which is used as a reception room, demonstrates that during the 1800s the building has undergone transformations into the internal definition of public and private spaces. From that we understand that the Building is no longer a simple country house but becomes a place used for recreation and fun. The new function required new larger spaces, suitable for housing rich and numerous guests
The castle isn’t currently in use but in the past it was used as an accommodation facility, it indeed lends itself very well to this type of use being a place rich in charm.
It is therefore an excellent opportunity for the operators in the Banqueting, catering and hotel businesses to organize meetings, exhibitions, special events and weddings.
The restriction of the Superintendence allows the IMU exemption, while maintaining the facade and frescoes in the three halls, also allows transformations for different uses such as hotel (Relais & Chateaux), residential and tertiary for important companies offices.
The Castle is equipped with a fire system with a VVF motor-pump connection, fire racks spread inside, panic handles and safety exits.
The connections (light, water, gas, telephone, sewer) are all set up and ready to be activated.
