Vacation without drama: The Sussex family enjoys a week-long vacation in Costa Rica.
The funny thing is that while the Hollywood Reporter was moaning and screaming about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex being gripped by an excessive commitment to privacy and being considered losers, the Sussexes themselves were enjoying a silent vacation in Costa Rica. Prince Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lily went there for a pre-Christmas vacation, and we're just now learning about it - now that they've already left the country.
According to local media reports CRHoy
British royals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle secretly visited Costa Rica last week, confirming the country's reputation as one of the top celebrity vacation destinations. According to immigration authorities, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived in Costa Rica on Dec. 14 and departed today, Dec. 20, after spending about a week on beautiful beaches and in the jungle.
The couple appears to have spent most of their time around picturesque Carrillo Beach and nearby beaches in the Guanacaste province, which is world-renowned for its pristine sandy beaches and upscale resorts. However, Harry and Meghan aren't the first celebrities to be captivated by Costa Rica's diverse natural wonders in recent times - Colombian superstar Shakira has also been spotted there with her children.
Not being strangers to the contrails since their fairytale wedding, the young royals probably appreciated their simple vacation in the "pura vida" atmosphere of Costa Rica without the constant media presence. While the details of their tropical trip are still unknown, one thing is for sure - Harry and Meghan have joined a long tradition of celebrities and sightseers who find their spirits restored on the trails of lush rainforests, cutting-edge ocean views and the warm hospitality of Costa Rica.
I'm glad they had a good vacation and the news only came out after they left. Costa Rica is a popular destination for American tourists, and because of this Costa Rica has a growing tourist economy. I haven't looked at all the UK publications, but probably most of them are similar to the Mail articles. I'm paraphrasing, but the gist of it boils down to them asking, "if they wanted to fly somewhere with their kids, why not go to Sandringham?" Because A) they didn't want to, B) they weren't invited, and C) Charles' priority is spending time with Camilla's family, not his own children and grandchildren.
