'Serbs are actively buying real estate without price caps'

After vacationing on the Adriatic or Ionian coast of Albania, former Yugoslavs have decided to buy apartments in the famous resort towns of this country. According to the manager of a company that builds tourist settlements in Shegin, a small Albanian harbor on the Adriatic near the town of Lesha, which used to play a significant role in Serbian history, more and more property buyers from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Northern Macedonia, Croatia and Montenegro are buying apartments. This place has an excellent location. It is close to Tirana, as well as to Shkoder, the airport and has a good road infrastructure. It can be reached by car from Belgrade in less than eight hours.

We are currently constructing another building in Šegin,''We already have eight buildings and a hotel. In total, more than 16,000 square meters of living space. We have many clients from the former Yugoslavia. Currently, the most apartments are being sold to buyers from Serbia, from the cities of Niš and Belgrade. Several families from Novi Sad have also bought apartments here. The most demanded apartments are from 62 to 75 square meters. The price per square meter ranges from 900 euros and more

Albania is becoming an increasingly interesting tourist destination not only for the region, but also for foreign tourists. The number of tourists from the former SFRY republics who choose Albania for their vacations is increasing year by year. Data published recently by the Albanian Statistical Institute show that in the first seven months of this year the country''visited more than five million citizens from 152 countries. There is no data on the number of Serbian tourists who stay on the Albanian coast and buy apartments, as they usually vacation and visit Albania on their own.
